We are a busy Primary Care Health Centre in Rhyl, a famous seaside town in the heart of North Wales, boding a large practice with a patient list size topping sixteen thousand, We are based in an official area of deprevation and have a more than average chronic disease register, Our elderly population is also larger than the average.
Our team consists of seven GPs and three Registrars, and we are now dealing with Cardiff, Liverpool and Manchester University medical students. We will have three medical students at any one time and are planning on building research into their training schedule.
50% of all our staff are GCP trained and our plan is to increase this during the coming year to support an increase in potential delivery capacity.
We pride ourselves on having one of the finest, skilled workforces and strive to be the best in North Wales.
Since joining the PiCRIS scheme in 2013, we believe the speed with which we have developed our research infrastructure and study engagement gives testament to our abilities to manage and develop clinical research. We have a dynamic and problem solving approach to the challenge of embedding research into our daily business. We have shown ourselves to be pro active and creative and are confident that as our expertise grows, so will our ability to recruit quickly and efficiently to target. We contributed a fifth of total UK recruitment to the recent El CID CRP study.
We have spent time encouraging staff development and have promoted our PiCRIS status to support recruitment and retention of staff. We now have our own research nurses.
As a large practice, we have a wide range of clinical areas of interest amongst our medical staff and also benefit from an able and responsive administration team.
